Saigon Film Photowalk is designed for those who are new to photography. You will be provided with a camera, film roll, and instructions on how to use them when registering to participate. Or you can use your own recording device as you like.
Saigon Film Photowalk consists of 3 elements: S – Saigon: we look forward to telling you stories about Saigon, about the historical ups and downs of hundreds of years of exploiting and defending the country in this land. F – Film: we hope to be able to record the images of Saigon with you through film cameras, which later you can develop the films yourself and see the results. P – Photowalk: we are happy to go and introduce to you the people of Saigon, liberal and kind, but also rich in emotions and stories of a life.
Our quest began with a shared ambition to the orignal story of Vietnam. As Saigonese, seeing our citypotential has been wasted by the usual tourist trails, we want to introduce voyager to wandering into hidden corners to tell the untold story of local people in Ho Chi Minh city via vintage film cameras – a time machines that infused life into our shots.
Our cameras didn’t just capture landscapes; they wove tales. Conversations with locals also unveiled remarkable stories etched in the heart of Vietnam’s by the nontouristy realms. Laughter, history, and heritage unfolded before our lenses. Now, we invite you to join our narrative, and immerse yourself in the true Vietnam via a vintage viewfinder.
